Accommodation and travel

If you travel by plane the easiest connection is to Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport. Trains leave every twenty minutes from Schiphol Airport to The Hague Central Station (CS) or to The Hague Holland Spoor (HS) train station. The trains leave usually from platform 5-6. The journey will take approx. 30 minutes. The train station is just below the airport arrival hall and is clearly marked.

Train tickets should be purchased before boarding the train at the ticket desks (big blue sign Train Tickets & Services) or at the yellow ticket machines (accepts coins and Dutch debit cards) located at Schiphol Plaza, the central hall of the Terminal. The price for a 2nd class, one way ticket is € 7,50.

Taxi’s from Schiphol Airport to The Hague cost approx. € 100,- and will not get you to The Hague much faster than the train!

Arrival in The Hague

At both train stations (The Hague Central Station (CS) or to The Hague Holland Spoor (HS)), you can take a taxi to bring you to your accommodation.

You can also use the tram to go to your accommodation. You can buy a ‘strippenkaart’ with 15 strips (€ 7,30) or 45 strips (€21,60) at the HTM helpdesk in the central hall of the train stations. Depending on where you will be staying in The Hague, the trip will be in the same zone (you then need to stamp the 2nd strip on your card) or in the next zone (thus two zones) which means you should stamp three strips (thus the 3rd strip) on your card per journey. You can also buy a one-way ticket (€ 2,40, please pay the exact amount!) from the tram driver.
